A key component of Compac's solution for produce sorting is the advanced InVision 9000 blemish sorting system. Cameras and advanced software combine to sort produce based on the presence of blemishes on the produce surface. InVision 9000 includes all the features found in InVision 5000 for color, size and shape sorting. However, these features are enhanced due to the higher resolution of the InVision 9000 system.
InVision 9000 can detect and grade on minor to major defects which range from skin blemishes, insect damage, mis-shappen fruit to physical damage. Physical damage (included punctures, cuts and bruising) can be a significant percentage of overall defects. These are often difficult to pick up with the human eye but can cause fruit break down in the market. Compac InVision 9000 is being used to separate damaged fruit prior to shipping to ensure the best return from the crop.
