Repeat Apple Blemish Order:
In July 2005, Zirkle Fruit Company in Washington State USA installed a new 20 lane Compac with 50 drops and InVision 9000 Blemish for
their new water pre size line for apples. Based on the results of running this machine they have placed an order for a second 8 lane machine for installation by November 2006. The Compac solution installed last year involved a number of new features and technology including blemish grading, automatic outlet allocation, flume control, bin tracking, communication with existing software and bin ticket printing. The repeat order is a direct result of new technology that works for the application required.

Used Machines:
There are a number of used machine available including cup type sizers and an excellent Compac SLS Stonefruit line in fantastic condition. Click here to check out the details and more pics.

New Compac Developments

Reject Weighing Systems :
A new product being installed into two NZ packhouse this season are reject weighing conveyors. These smart weighing conveyors are placed in the reject system of your packing line. They are designed to supply accurate data on the total amount of fruit being rejected from anywhere on your line, by batch. The controllers are ideally connected through to Compac v10 Sizer software for accurate reporting. The smart bit is that they are designed to automatically switch between operational modes to ensure a constant flow of fruit and reduce bottlenecks. More info coming on the website soon.

Staged Batch Systems:
Combine reject weighing conveyors with the new staged batch change features in the latest version of Compac V10 Sizer software for precise batch reporting accuracy.

Apple Rapid Pack Systems:
A new product operating in Hawkes Bay this year are rapid pack systems for Apples. These are high capacity tray filling solutions being fed off a pre grader or a separate bin filler for up to 300 fruit per minute. Longview Packing installed 10 rapid pack units side by side in their new automated packing facility. The real innovation has been with fruit labeling by singulating the fruit during the process to significantly reduce label change over time.

InVision Blemish Update:
Kiwifruit in New Zealand will see 5 pre graders operating with InVision 7000IR blemish grading this season. We look forward to these starting up in April with the ability to remove cuts and punctures as well as external markings.
Apples will see blemish machines operating in Australia, USA and NZ this year. Apple blemish is still in development but is offering benefits to a number of operators and we look forward to this increasing throughout 2006.
