Compac's cherry infeed solutions ensure a gentle transition from bin or field box to the sorter. Options include:
Our bin tipping technology is fully automated and efficient and dumping bins of cherries gently into water flumes for transportation. Our systems cater for 45-100 bins per hour.
Removes small fruit and stones before they can enter the sorter. Eliminating undersize cherries and debris at high speed keeps the line running at maximum capacity.
The best way to ensure gentle transportation of cherries is with our stainless steel water flume and pumping systems, designed specifically to meet your requirements. Hydro-cushion, our state-of-the-art patented water cushion technology provides the gentlest handling and transfer of your cherries onto the Compac sorter.
Compac's cherry treatment options include:
Hydrocooling keeps cherries at a consistent temperature as they move through the line, maintaining their shelf life and preserving their retail quality.
Effective cluster cutting prepares cherries for individual grading and reduces the need for manual separation of cherries.
Central to Compac's cherry solutions is our state-of-the-art sorting technology. Your production requirements and capacity will determine the sorter which is right for your packhouse. What differentiates our sorting solutions is our innovative, industry-leading InVision cherry grading system. This system reduces labor requirements and provides you with unparalleled sorting consistency and accuracy.
Compac’s InVision system gives extremely accurate size grading for cherries, allowing packers to ensure cherries remain in their correct size grade, reducing downgrading of larger fruit and matching cherries to their most profitable markets. Compac’s system tracks the stem of cherries in order to measure the shoulder of the fruit, just as you would with a sizing ring, upping the accuracy of the system and ensuring retail packs meet your customers’ grade.
Our intelligent, easy-to-use InVision learning software enables intuitive recognition of fruit types and will adjust grading accordingly. InVision can accurately perceive dark colors, subtle browns, soft pinks and yellows commonly found in different varieties of cherries.
Using Compac's advanced InVision software, cherries are sorted by the presence of surface blemishes and softness. Cherries are then graded on minor to major defects including softness, bruising, doubles, spurs, rain cracks, pitting, limb rubs and misshapen fruit. InVision can be configured to grade for differing levels of defects, providing maximum control when matching product grades to different markets.
Compac's packing solutions have been designed with cherries in mind, ensuring a particularly gentle transition and handling.
We have many cherry packing solutions to meet the different needs of our customers including:
Box filling units gently fill cherries by weight with a trickle feed to accurately fill the box to the nearest few cherries. This means less underweight boxes and reduced labor requirements to manually top up boxes.
Delivers constant flow of cherries from the machine to the punnet or clamshell filling stations. We also have a number of third party options for punnet and clamshell filling to meet customer needs and requirements.
Reduce your labor requirements with our automated Carton Handling Systems (CHS).
The CHS tracks cartons from the sorter and distributes them to different destinations within the packhouse for palletizing and shipping. These intelligent systems can manage multiple boxes, products and destinations simultaneously. CHS integrates with the Compac Pack Printing system to automate carton labelling and data transfer to your ERP system for traceability, compliance and stock control.
Compac's pallet handling solutions improve efficiency. Our robotics ensure efficient and safe transportation of pallets around the packhouse, especially for high volume operations.
Compac's data and integration solutions ensure that all cherries are tracked and recorded as they cross the sorter, with this information being exchanged with other packhouse systems such as ERP, traceability systems and carton printing applications.
